Cultura Privé / Cloth
Cloth you can sell under your own name.
We cut cloth from 33 mills and cloth merchants, 26 of them in Europe. You can sell from our stock in Shanghai, start with our house book, or send your own cloth and pay for CMT only.
Held in Shanghai
Some of the cloth we cut is already on our shelves, which keeps it simple when your client orders.
- Zegna: 162 styles held in Shanghai. 99 of them are Trofeo and 63 are Traveller.
- Vitale Barberis Canonico: one of the mills we hold in stock.
These are mills whose cloth we buy and cut. We are not the mills and we are not affiliated with them. When you sell a suit in Zegna or Vitale Barberis Canonico cloth, you are selling a suit made by us in that mill’s cloth. Do not describe it to your client as made by the mill.
Our house book: Corsini LANA Four Seasons
Our own cloth book has 85 fabrics. Every one is 280 g four-season Australian merino, 100% wool. One weight that works across the year makes it an easy book to hand a new client, and an easy one to learn.
If you are building a first range and do not want to choose between 33 mills yet, start here.
Special order cloth
Some merchants are special order only. Söktaş and Ariston are two examples. We order that cloth against a confirmed job, so ask us about timing before you promise a date to your client.
Your own cloth
If you already have cloth, or want a cloth no one else offers, send it to us. That is CMT: cut, make, trim. It starts from 100 USD per two-piece suit, ex works Shanghai.
Choosing a first range
A new label does not need every mill on day one. A short list of navy and grey suitings is a sensible place to begin. Add a mill name when your clients ask for it. Then add the cloth that makes your label look like yours.
